.: CYBERPOCALYPSE :.
Welcome to the Strip - a futuristic city home to mutants, cyborgs, and plain ol' fashioned humans.
Gangs roam the streets, the human Purists are waging their war against all the "muties" and "mekkers" out there, and the mutie militia is fighting back with avengeance.
That, and the spreading onset of a techno-plague that has started to affect those without cybernetics as well as those with them, makes the Strip a tough place to thrive and survive.
Can you handle it? Or will you be swallowed up by the Cyberpocalypse?

"People will always find something to fight over." Icarus pointed out, at the shrug, feeling that was the easiest way to settle that line of conversation. It was unfortunate but that just seemed to be how the world worked. Probably the way it always would as well, even if all of their other plights were no longer a problem. At the mention of painkillers he gave Annah a quick nod and moved off to the kitchen to dig some out, returning quickly with a pair of tablets in his hand.
"Those should do the trick, they are a little on the strong side though so you may want to take one first and give it a bit to settle in to see if it's enough." He told her, holding out the tablets in his hand. "I'm sure I can get something arranged for you, he's a good guy for the most part, though he can stir up trouble when he wants to. Thankfully he keeps his business trouble free." Icarus sighed a little, again it wasn't like many people could make an honest living these days with how everything was.
Shine meanwhile had curled up of the sofa, nodding off a little by herself since the conversation seemed to have moved away. Her own little thoughts keeping her entertained and sight of the friendly auras in the room letting her smile happily.

"Mm, it'd be nice if appearance wasn't really an issue. Then again, I hear it was a problem before... this all happened," she gestured around her, to indicate the world they found themselves living in at present. She gave it a non-commital shrug, feeling a lack of energy to dicuss the matter further. Tail troubles seemed more urgent at the moment, anyway.
"Some painkillers would be nice, thanks. It'd help me sleep - I can't even begin to count how many sleepless nights I've found myself without pain relief," she smiled weakly, "A good deal on parts would be nice, maybe some scrap metal and bolts and the like. So long as I have the bits, I'm alright with sorting something out." True, doing fairly delicate work on your tailbone could be tricky, but she trusted her own work far more than anybody else's... at least if it broke, she could pin-point what and why, and fix it herself. Much handier if you're trying to dodge some trouble and something comes loose. Still gave her the head-to-toe shiver when it happened, though, like when a wobbly tooth became all the more wobbly when you're poking it with your tongue.

Shine nodded enthusiastically, although it didn't actually strike her that she wouldn't have the vaguest idea if something was a fox without touching it. Even then it'd have to be a pretty deformed fox to meet what she saw through Kritty. Maybe to be on the safe side she better start smiling and bowing to things, she'd get it right that way for sure.
"Don't let the size of these things fool you, they're about as delicate as glass when they want to be. All I can afford though and between me and Shine we keep them working." Icarus sighed, giving a nod to Annah's response. No point in starting fights but no point in hiding away because some bigots care more about appearance than people. Guess that's the way of the world now though, the more human you look the more you want to dissociate yourself with the real mutants. Barring notable exceptions of course, but more and more it seems like people just want to avoid it all." His human hand clenched a little, he'd normally have a lot more to say on this but Shine was in the room so he wasn't about to start on it, focusing instead on Annah's tail troubles.
"I could have a word with the guy who maintains these things," he gestured to his legs and arm, "Might be able to get you a slightly better deal since we go back a ways and he's got no plans on skipping out due to the purists or anything any time soon. In the mean time I have painkillers if it's giving you too much grief." He shrugged a little, not entirely sure he'd be able to do too much with what he had laying around. Was far more delicate work than what he had to do with his own rig, generally involving a hammer or solid hitting.

Annah laughed softly at Shine's antics, swinging the fox around by its tail. "Well, Kritty must have a very strong tail, in that case! I'll give you a little chunk of knowledge, though: if you ever meet a real fox, make sure to just smile and bow. For the rest of the day you'll have the fox's luck! Just remember not to try and swing him by his tail," she grinned, stifling a small yawn. She looked up to Icarus.
"Delicate legs, eh? I guess it's useful that they're all replaced and stuff, now," she said, "I can see what you mean about the Purists thing, it makes me so angry when people try their hardest just to look like them because they're scared. Maybe a little bit of conveniently-placed clothing or some paint now and then to avoid unecessary trouble, or to help with a bit of spying, but never because of fear. They'll never get the message with people like that around."
Annah sighed and finished off her drink. She turned her head to glance at her tail, gave it a little wiggle, and looked back to Ica. "My tail is fine usually... I think it's just a bit of extra growth recently, making it irritable. There is a bit of skin that's starting to become exposed at the top though, which I guess could do with some work... my suppliers have cut out on me recently, unfortunately." Annah rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "Some people are so unreliable," she said, to noone in particular.

Tallis nodded at this, having taken what was offered to him gleefully he still was minus armor for not many places had anything really that would fit his immense chest size. “ I’m as ready as I’ll ever be.” The guy replied as he ran his hand through his locks of blue. He also held in his hand a rain parka he had found. A standard dark green that would hide his obvious features and maybe allow him to blend in with the shadows easier then with his usual bright blue hair standing out like a beacon. - Neon though, she wore a black medium weight vest, though longing for bigger arsenal she had to make do with the crud they have chosen to give her. “ I still say, flame thrower, would have been the way to go.” The violent woman coughed before looking away innocently as if she had not just uttered those fateful words.

Mila stuck up her middle finger at the woman's retreating back before getting back to the business at hand. A harried looking middle aged guy had stopped in front of her and was staring apprehenisively at the mess of bloody bones in front of her crossed legs. She calmly swept the bones out of the way and patted the ground in front of her.
"Sit down good sir, and tell Maman Brigitte yer trouble.."

Jack had waited around for another quarter of an hour before he had gotten bored. He stood and stretched before making sure the folders for the others taking part in the job were clearly visible on the desk and walking out to go and get himself kitted up.
He headed downstairs to the armoury and waited for the guys to wave him through before going to choose the stuff he'd need for today. He chose a flechette pistol loaded with with stunning rounds and a shoulder holster so he could keep it concealed. Apart from that all he took was one of the thinnest types of body armour, easy to hide under clothes and it could stop a pistol round or a knife.
After coming back out of the armoury he looked around and spotted Neon and the new guy. He walked over to the two of them and coughed to get their attention.
"You two ready? We can head out early and meet the det-man I got for the job. The others can catch us up later."

" You better watch it woman. At least I'm letting you stay here instead of makeing you shove off." She snapped at her as she got up and turned around rather harshly. She strolled over to the other side of the street with a loud click of her heels. Makeing her way into the crowed and giveing many one of those pissy looks of hers that said utter the wrong thing and I'll be shoveing my stilleto's up your tiny ass.

Mila gave the stupid kratting purist a vicious look and spat at the ground just in front of her.
"Say what ya want girl, but you'll be talking out the other side of a broken jaw if you make the wrong decision and prove me right. Have a nice day now and piss of back ta yer purist chums."
She made the same shooing motion she had before, sending the annoying woman away before she lost her some more interesting business.
